New framework — Hermes + Agent OS

The Goldie Jarvis Line™ + Hermes Agent.

My new framework — turn your Hermes agent into a phone line you can ring like Tony Stark's Jarvis. Call a number. Ask it anything. It thinks, it acts, it answers out loud. From anywhere.

My story · why this matters

I was you. Then I gave Hermes a phone number.

Before

I had this powerful agent on my Mac. Hermes.

But I could only use it sitting at my desk.

I'd be out, away from the screen, and think "I need to check that."

And I couldn't. I had to wait till I got home.

All that power. Stuck to one chair.

Then I gave it a phone number.

After

Now I just call it.

From the car. From a walk. From anywhere.

"Hey, what's my balance?" "Submit today's URLs." "Draft that reply."

It picks up, it does the job, it tells me — out loud, in a calm British voice.

You can have this too. Same tools. Same steps. Right here.

III · the receipts

Real people. Real wins. Inside the Boardroom right now.

Here's what's happening for the members already running this stack — agency owners, ecom founders, creators, solo operators. Different businesses. Same result.

Commit to building this today. Not someday.

You've seen what it does. Now you get the exact steps.

The next 10 minutes show how I wired it all in.

So here's the deal.

Promise yourself one thing right now. You're going to read this all the way through, and you're going to set up at least the first part before you sleep tonight. Just the first part.

Because the moment your agent can pick up the phone, the way you work changes completely. You stop being chained to a screen.

The people sitting still are getting passed. The people building today are the ones who'll look back in six months and say "that was the moment."

Be one of those people. Commit to the build. Commit to today.

V · the framework

The Goldie Jarvis Line™.

Four simple parts. Put them together and your agent has a voice and a phone number. Here's what each part gives you.

i.

The Voice

ElevenLabs is the ears and mouth. It hears you on the call and speaks back in a real, human voice. You never see a screen — you just talk.

ii.

The Brain

Hermes is the thinking part. It runs on your Mac, knows your stuff, and can actually do things — run your scripts, check your numbers, draft your replies.

iii.

The Bridge

A tiny tunnel connects the voice to the brain. It's the line that lets ElevenLabs talk to Hermes on your Mac from the outside world.

iv.

The Lock

The off switch. One command takes the whole line offline so no one can reach your agent. You're always in control of who gets through.

VI · old way vs new way

Why a phone line beats sitting at the screen.

Old Way
~ tied to your desk
  • Open your laptop to ask the agent anything
  • Type every question out by hand
  • Can't do anything while you're out
  • Ideas come while driving — and get lost
  • You're the bottleneck, not the agent
New Way
~ call from anywhere
  • Dial one number — your agent picks up
  • Just talk, like a normal phone call
  • It runs your tasks while you're out
  • Catch the idea the second you have it
  • Your agent works — you just ask
VII · the setup

How to build it — step by step.

Anyone can do this. If you can copy and paste, you can run this. Follow it in order. About 10 minutes.

1

Get your ElevenLabs key

This is the voice. Sign up at elevenlabs.io and grab your API key.

Go to your ElevenLabs account → Profile → copy your API key. It starts with sk_. Keep it somewhere safe for the next step.

2

Turn on Hermes's phone brain

This switches on the door that lets the phone reach Hermes.

Open your Hermes profile's .env file (it's at ~/.hermes/profiles/<your-profile>/.env) and add these lines:

# turn on the Hermes phone door
API_SERVER_ENABLED=true
API_SERVER_PORT=8642
API_SERVER_KEY=# paste the output of: openssl rand -hex 24
ELEVENLABS_API_KEY=sk_your_elevenlabs_key

For API_SERVER_KEY, run openssl rand -hex 24 in your terminal and paste what it gives you. That's just a random password so only you can connect.

3

Pick a FAST model

A phone call can't wait. A slow model means silence on the line.

In Hermes, set your model to a fast one — not a slow "thinking" model and not a free one. Those stall mid-call and you'll hear dead air. A quick everyday model keeps the conversation snappy.

Tip: the phone uses whatever model Hermes is set to. If you later switch Hermes to a slow model, the phone gets slow too. Keep a fast one pinned.
4

Install the tunnel + start it

The tunnel is the bridge from the outside world to your Mac.

Install it once:

brew install cloudflared

Then start Hermes's gateway and the tunnel:

hermes gateway start
cloudflared tunnel --url http://localhost:8642

Cloudflared prints a web address ending in .trycloudflare.com. Copy it — that's your bridge. Leave this running.

5

Build the ElevenLabs agent

This is the voice agent that answers the phone and uses Hermes as its brain.

In the ElevenLabs dashboard → Conversational AI → create a new agent. In its LLM settings, choose Custom LLM, and set the URL to your tunnel address with /v1 on the end:

https://your-tunnel.trycloudflare.com/v1

Put your API_SERVER_KEY from Step 2 in the agent's API-key field. Now ElevenLabs sends every call to Hermes.

6

Get a number + connect it

A real number people can dial.

Get a phone number from Twilio (cheap), then in ElevenLabs → Phone, connect your Twilio account and import the number. Assign that number to the agent you just built.

That's the magic moment. The number is now wired to your agent, and your agent is wired to Hermes on your Mac.
7

Call it

The payoff.

Dial your number. Your agent picks up. Try: "What can you do?" or "Check my balance."

It thinks on your Mac, runs the task, and answers out loud. You just called your own Jarvis. 🎉

8

Lock it down (do not skip)

This number is a live line to an agent that runs commands on your Mac. Treat it like a key to your house.

  • Keep the number private. Never read it out on a recording.
  • Say "draft" not "send" until you fully trust it.
  • To take it offline anytime: stop the cloudflared tunnel (Ctrl+C) and unassign the number in ElevenLabs. Line's dead until you turn it back on.
Remember: no tunnel = no line. Killing the tunnel is your instant kill-switch. Anyone who had the number now reaches nothing.

VIII · the three things stopping you

What's holding you back — and the truth.

"This is too technical for me."

If you can copy and paste, you can do this. Eight steps. The Boardroom has the done-for-you version and people to help if you get stuck.

"I'll set it up later when I have time."

Later never comes. Thirty minutes once gives you an agent you can call forever. The window where this is rare is closing fast.

"I need to be a developer to run agents."

You don't. Members running this are coaches, agency owners, ecom founders — not coders. The system does the hard part. You just talk to it.

What you just gained.

You got a voice. ElevenLabs gives your agent real, human speech on a call.
You freed the brain. Hermes runs the work on your Mac, not tied to a screen.
You built the bridge. One tunnel connects the phone to your agent.
You pinned a fast model. No dead air — snappy replies on every call.
You got a number. A real line you can dial from anywhere.
You kept control. Kill the tunnel and the line goes dead instantly.

Stop sitting at the screen. Just call your agent.
