Run the Grok Bot free trial from your Agent OS and the week stops being a guess: your agent logs the start date, scopes every task, reads the meter and writes the day-7 call for you.
The Grok Bot FAQ describes the trial as a usage credit with a 7-day window, started with Start Trial on the access screen.
Release v0.78.1 on the changelog says that offer has been swapped for Get Grok Bot and unified plans in places, so your first prompt checks which version you have.

A seven-day trial goes wrong in boring ways: you forget the start date, run one huge task, or lose track of what each job used.
Your Agent OS is good at exactly that kind of bookkeeping.
It keeps the log, writes the briefs and reminds you, while Grok Bot does the actual work.
None of the prompts below need the Bot itself, so they cost no trial credit.
Doing it in this order means the 7-day clock starts with a plan already written.
| Rule | What the docs say |
|---|---|
| What it is | A usage credit plus a 7-day window |
| Converts to paid? | Never |
| What drains it | Agent steps and tokens, not messages |
| Used credit | Not restored |
| Cancel Trial | Free-plan accounts; removes remaining credit; no restart |
| Paid plan or Teams seat | The trial ends on its own |
| App Store trial | Separate, run by Apple, converts unless cancelled |
| Android | No in-app trial |
Paste that table into your agent's memory so every later prompt respects it.
You might not need the trial at all.
The Get Started guide says SuperGrok and X Premium+ subscriptions can be linked to Grok Bot when the app asks.
On phones that is Link Grok Account, and on desktop it is Get Access with Grok under Settings → Usage & Billing.
Tell your agent which subscriptions you hold so prompt 1 can flag this before the clock starts.
I am starting a Grok Bot trial. My access screen shows: [Start Trial / Get Grok Bot / See Unified Plans].
If it shows Start Trial, create a trial log with today's date as day 1 and day 7 as the end of the window.
Set reminders for day 4 (pick the job worth repeating) and day 7 (decide).
If it shows Get Grok Bot or See Unified Plans, note that release v0.78.1 replaced the trial offer there,
and list which plans include Grok Bot on The X Subscription: Premium, Super and Ultra (not Plus).
Do not add any prices.
The plan names come from the Grok Bot on The X Subscription page, so your agent is not guessing.
The credit drains by work done, so the brief matters more than the number of chats.
Write a first message for my Grok Bot that keeps this task small enough for a trial credit.
Task: [describe one job].
Include: the single goal, what to skip, a hard stop after the first useful result,
and an instruction to ask me before starting anything long or opening many pages.
Tell the Bot to remember this way of working for future tasks.
Asking the Bot to remember how to work follows the Get Started advice to give each Bot one primary job.
🔥 Want the Agent OS these prompts run inside?
The AI Profit Boardroom gives you step-by-step video trainings, the installable Agent OS, four coaching calls a week and 3,400+ members using it to plan agent work.
The FAQ says to check usage on the plan screen before large or long jobs, which on desktop means Settings → Usage & Billing.
Here is my Grok Bot usage reading after the last task: [paste what Usage & Billing shows].
Add it to the trial log next to the task name.
Tell me which task so far used the most and suggest how to brief it more tightly next time.
Warn me if the next planned task looks big enough to use the rest of the credit.
After two or three readings your agent can rank your jobs from cheap to costly.
This one protects you from the only trial that bills.
Did I start a free trial inside the Grok Bot iPhone app? [yes/no, and the date].
If yes, add a reminder two days before it ends to open Apple ID → Subscriptions and cancel it,
unless I tell you I want to keep the paid Apple subscription.
Note that Cursor cannot cancel or refund an in-app plan, so any billing question goes to Apple.
The mobile docs confirm Apple runs that trial and that Android has no in-app trial at all.
The rest of the phone set-up is in the Grok Bot iOS guide.
Read my Grok Bot trial log.
For each task, list: time it would take me by hand, time I spent briefing and checking, and credit used.
Recommend one of: pick a plan (name only), keep testing on a referral trial, or stop.
Do not tell me to press Cancel Trial unless I ask, because it removes the remaining credit and cannot be undone.
The trial will not bill you, so there is no reason to cancel early on a free plan.
Want members' real trial logs to compare against? They are shared inside the AI Profit Boardroom.
Keep it as one plain file your agent can read and update each day.
By day 7 the log answers the plan question for you, with no guesswork.
The first is the runaway task: a brief so open that the Bot uses the whole credit in one go.
The second is the forgotten iPhone trial that Apple renews into a paid subscription.
The third is pressing Cancel Trial out of habit, which wipes the remaining credit and blocks any restart.
Each prompt above exists to stop one of these.
Swap the bracketed parts for your real task, your screen wording and your dates.
Keep the wording that limits scope and asks before long jobs, since that is what protects the credit.
Save all five as reusable prompts in your Agent OS so the next trial, or the next teammate, starts from the same playbook.
If you start a paid plan or a Teams seat mid-week, the trial closes by itself, so log the date and carry on.
A friend on a paid Premium, Super or Ultra plan can send a referral link that gives you a 2-week free trial of Premium, per the referral programme page.
That one needs a card, and the reminder lands 7 days before the first charge, so feed that date into prompt 4.
On Cursor Enterprise, the changelog shows admins can start a team trial from the dashboard (v0.33.0) and see the days left on the Overview (v0.37.0).
If you are on a company account, ask your admin before starting anything yourself.

v0.78.1 also added a template called "Try it, don't pay for it", which starts trials of other services and cancels or reminds before they bill.
It is useful, but it is not the Grok Bot trial.
Give it an Ask first rule in your Agent OS before it touches any account, and join the AI Profit Boardroom for the full template walkthroughs.
No. You press Start Trial yourself on the access screen. Your agent logs the dates, writes the briefs and tracks usage around it.
The credit drains by agent steps and tokens, so the only way to know what a task costs is to check Settings, Usage and Billing after it runs.
Only if you ask. Cancel Trial removes the remaining credit and the trial cannot be restarted, while the trial itself never bills you.
Release v0.78.1 replaced the trial offer with Get Grok Bot on a unified plan in some places. Use prompt 1 to list the plans that include Grok Bot.
Paste prompt 1 today, let your agent hold the clock, and book a free SEO strategy session if you want help planning your grok bot free trial.
