My pick for the best AI agent course 2026 is the AI Profit Boardroom, because new training goes in as new agent tools ship and the Agent OS comes with it.
Yes, this is my own list, and my two communities are ranked first and second.
Below them are six well-known courses from Microsoft, Anthropic, DeepLearning.AI, Hugging Face and LangChain, each checked on its own public page on 13 October 2026.
I ranked all eight on one thing, which is how much of the 2026 agent stack they teach.
Here is the ranked list first, because that is what you searched for.
| Rank | Course | Free or paid, as shown | Agent OS layers its public page lists | Date the provider shows |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AI Profit Boardroom (mine) | Paid | Every layer, plus the installable Agent OS | The Skool page shows none, and my public videos are dated 5 to 12 October 2026. |
| 2 | AI Money Lab (mine) | Free | A beginner AI course and 1,000 AI agents | The Skool page shows none. |
| 3 | Microsoft AI Agents for Beginners | Open source | Protocols, multi-agent, memory, computer use, local agents | The latest commit was on 13 October 2026. |
| 4 | Anthropic Academy | Free | Harness, skills, MCP, loop runs, plugins | The course pages show none. |
| 5 | DeepLearning.AI agent courses | Free enrol on several pages | Harness, skills, MCP, multi-agent, memory | The pages say updated between 17 July and 31 August 2026. |
| 6 | Hugging Face AI Agents Course | Free | Agent frameworks, agentic RAG, MCP | The latest commits were on 6 October 2026. |
| 7 | LangChain Academy | Free content | Harness, multi-agent, testing and deployment | The pages show none. |
| 8 | Microsoft MCP for Beginners | Open source | MCP across six languages and platforms | The latest commit was on 13 October 2026. |
My two communities are first and second, and I ranked the other six by how much of the 2026 agent stack their public pages list.
I read every third-party page on 13 October 2026.
I have not completed those courses, so I report what the providers publish and I do not grade their teaching.
I left prices out, because I would rather print nothing than print a wrong number.
An Agent OS is one dashboard where all your agents live, share one memory and pick up work from one board.
A course is current in 2026 when it teaches the layers that make that possible.
| Agent OS layer | What it is in 2026 | What a current course should teach |
|---|---|---|
| Harness | Hermes Agent, Claude Code or OpenClaw runs the model, the tools and the loop for you. | You should learn to install one, steer it and recover when it goes the wrong way. |
| Connections | MCP is the standard way an agent reaches your tools and data. | You should learn to add an MCP server and check what it can touch. |
| Skills | A skill is a saved set of instructions the agent loads on demand. | You should learn to turn a process that works into a skill. |
| Hands | Computer use and browser agents click and type inside real apps. | You should learn which small tasks suit it and which do not. |
| Crew | Several agents pull cards from one Kanban board. | You should learn to assign work instead of typing every prompt. |
| Memory | One shared vault holds your goals, decisions and context. | You should learn to make every agent read and write the same memory. |
| Models | Free, local and paid models all plug into the same harness. | You should learn to keep one profile per model and start on the free ones. |
| Dashboard | One screen shows every agent, every task and every result. | You should learn to build or install an Agent OS. |
I gave a course more credit for each layer its public page names.
I also looked for a date the provider itself shows, and I tell you when there is none.
🔥 Want the exact AI agent courses and the Agent OS setup I run inside my Agent OS?
Inside the AI Profit Boardroom you get the installable Agent OS, step-by-step video tutorials, four coaching calls a week and 3,400+ members building real automations.
This is my own community, and I am saying so plainly because I ranked it first.
The AI Profit Boardroom has 3,400+ members and four coaching calls a week.
It includes the installable Agent OS that every guide on this site is built on.
It has courses on Hermes Agent, Grok Bot, DeepSeek Harness, Claude Opus 5.5 and Jev AI.
The Skool page does not show a last-updated date, so here is dated public evidence of the pace instead.
| Date in October 2026 | What I covered in a public video |
|---|---|
| 5 October | I covered the Hermes plugins marketplace, with around 500 free community plugins and one-click install. |
| 6 October | I covered Solar Mini 4, which was free for two weeks on Nous Portal. |
| 7 October | I covered Hark, a new consumer AI agent. |
| 8 October | I covered Herald OS, a free open-source agent OS that runs on Hermes. |
| 12 October | I covered MissingNo, a free stealth model from Nous Research. |
The video notes and tool links for each one go inside the Boardroom.
FatRank named it the #1 AI community after testing 27.
It is paid, and the current price is on its Skool page.
My free community is AI Money Lab, with a free AI course and 1,000 AI agents inside.
I also publish free long-form courses on YouTube, and the Agent OS one is at the top of this page.
It is the right first step if you have never run an agent.
The open-source Microsoft AI Agents for Beginners course sits on GitHub under the MIT licence.
Its lesson list includes agentic protocols such as MCP and A2A, the multi-agent design pattern, context engineering, agentic memory, computer use agents, local AI agents and securing agents.
That is the broadest match to the layers above that I found on a third-party page.
The course page says its code samples use Microsoft Agent Framework with Microsoft Foundry, and that an Azure account is required for them.
The latest commit I saw was a translation merge on 13 October 2026, which shows the repository is maintained.
The courses on Anthropic Academy come from the company that makes Claude Code.
The Claude Code in Action page lists plan mode, skills, permission modes, hooks, goal and loop runs, routines, headless mode and plugins.
The Introduction to agent skills course covers building and sharing skills, and it mentions wiring them into subagents.
The Introduction to Model Context Protocol course teaches MCP servers and clients in Python.
Those pages were labelled free, and I found no last-updated date on them.
DeepLearning.AI printed an updated date on every course page I opened.
The Agentic AI course with Andrew Ng showed 31 August 2026.
The Claude Code: A Highly Agentic Coding Assistant course showed 17 August 2026.
The MCP: Build Rich-Context AI Apps with Anthropic course showed 13 August 2026.
The Agent Skills with Anthropic course and the Long-Term Agentic Memory With LangGraph course both showed 17 July 2026.
Several pages showed a free enrol button, and certificates sit under the PRO membership.
The Hugging Face AI Agents Course describes itself as a free course that takes you from beginner to expert.
It teaches the smolagents, LlamaIndex and LangGraph frameworks, then agentic RAG and a final project with a certificate.
The free Hugging Face MCP Course was built in partnership with Anthropic, according to its page.
The latest commit on each repository was a documentation tooling update on 6 October 2026.
The FAQ on LangChain Academy says the course content is always free and the paid part is a certification exam.
Its featured Introduction to Deep Agents course explains what an agent harness is and how long-running agents work.
I saw no last-updated date on the pages I read.
The Microsoft MCP for Beginners curriculum is open source under the MIT licence.
Its description lists examples in .NET, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Rust and Python.
The latest commit I saw was a dependency update on 13 October 2026.
🔥 Want the exact AI agent courses and the Agent OS setup I run inside my Agent OS?
Inside the AI Profit Boardroom you get the installable Agent OS, step-by-step video tutorials, four coaching calls a week and 3,400+ members building real automations.
A course is only current if it reflects these changes, and each one links to the guide where I tested it.
| What changed | The detail from my own guide | Where to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Hermes Agent v0.20 shipped on 3 August 2026. | Voice became interruptible, research gained citations matched to the page text, and the iteration ceiling went from 90 to 500. | The Hermes v0.20 guide |
| Agents started looping inside the chat. | A self-paced loop backs off from one minute to fifteen minutes and pauses itself after a hundred wakeups. | The Hermes /loop guide |
| Computer use moved to the background. | Hermes wrote a note in the Notes app in under eight seconds without moving my cursor, and it struggled on a long reorganising job. | The computer use guide |
| The Agent OS became the workspace. | One dashboard, one Obsidian memory vault and one Kanban board are built with plain prompts. | The AI Agent OS guide |
The v0.20 release also added a one-line command that imports a Claude Code setup into Hermes.
Claude Code has its own loop command, and Nous says openly that the Hermes one is their take on it.
Computer use is still experimental and it only works with models that have vision.
October 2026 added free models and free plugins on top, which is why I keep one Hermes profile per model.
Run these ten checks on any course page before you start lesson one.
A course that misses a few of these can still teach strong fundamentals.
You will simply need a newer source for the layers it skips.
A course only pays off when the lesson becomes something an agent repeats.
This is the loop I use.
Start with one agent doing one job, because people who skip straight to full automation get poor results and blame the AI.
Stay on free models until a job clearly needs more.
The sibling posts in this series go deeper on each step.

Pick the AI Profit Boardroom if you want every layer, the installable Agent OS and live coaching.
Pick AI Money Lab if you want to start free.
Pick the Microsoft or Hugging Face course if you write code and want a structured syllabus.
Pick Anthropic Academy or DeepLearning.AI if Claude Code, skills and MCP are your focus.
Pick LangChain Academy if your team already builds on LangGraph.
My pick is the AI Profit Boardroom, and I am open that it is my own community. It has 3,400+ members, four coaching calls a week and the installable Agent OS, and I add training as new tools ship.
Look for a date on the provider's own page, then check the syllabus for a real harness, MCP, skills, computer use, memory, multi-agent work and looping runs. A course that only teaches single prompts or raw API calls is teaching the old way.
DeepLearning.AI printed an updated date on every course page I opened, from 17 July to 31 August 2026. The Microsoft and Hugging Face courses live on GitHub, where the latest commit date is public, and the other pages showed no date.
Hermes Agent v0.20 shipped on 3 August 2026 with interruptible voice, cited research and a higher iteration ceiling. Looping runs, background computer use and the Agent OS dashboard also became part of everyday work.
AI Money Lab is my free pick. Among third-party options, Microsoft's AI Agents for Beginners lists the most 2026 topics, and Anthropic Academy, Hugging Face and LangChain Academy are also free to start.
Do each lesson by hand with one agent, save the working process as a skill, write the result into the shared memory, then run it from the Kanban board. That turns a lesson into work your agents repeat.
Check the date, check the eight layers, and turn every lesson into a skill your agents can run again.
That habit is what makes any pick on this list the best AI agent course 2026.
