GEO Examples: Four Real AI Overview Wins And How To Run The Answer Engine From Your Agent OS

By Julian Goldie · 18 October 2026 · agentos.guide

A dark Agent OS dashboard showing a Google AI Overview card with one business name highlighted in gold, three glowing tiles labelled source, everywhere and first, and lines connecting several websites to a single answer

The clearest GEO examples are real searches where an AI answer names a business, and I've got four of my own that show exactly how it works.

GEO means generative engine optimisation, which is making your business the name that Google AI, Gemini or ChatGPT gives when someone asks a question.

In my video I show Google's AI Overview naming me first for "best geo expert", AI Profit Boardroom ranking first for "best AI SEO community", Goldie Agency linked first for "best HARO agency" and an AI answer recommending me for "who is the best Hermes AI SEO expert".

This quick start breaks each one down and shows how I'd run the same system from an Agent OS every week.

GEO examples at a glance

These are the four GEO examples I show on screen in my video, with the Agent OS job each one maps to.

#Search I checkedWhat the AI answer showedAgent OS job it maps to
1best geo expertGoogle's AI Overview named me first and cited several of my pages.Turn every real test into a published case study.
2best AI SEO communityAI Profit Boardroom ranked first, my free community second, and the article was three days old when I checked.Draft a disclosed listicle for one buyer search.
3best HARO agencyThe AI Overview listed five suppliers and linked Goldie Agency first, which also ranks first organically.Keep one consistent fact file for the business.
4who is the best Hermes AI SEO expertThe AI answer recommended me and cited my content from several platforms.Repurpose one story across several platforms.

They're my own results, so read them as proof the method can work rather than a forecast for your site.

What GEO is in one minute

GEO stands for generative engine optimisation.

When someone asks Google AI, Gemini or ChatGPT a question, GEO is the work of making your business the name in the answer.

Old SEO gave you ten blue links, and position seven still got some clicks.

AI answers usually give a short list of maybe one to three names, so there's no room for number seven.

The AI reads the pages that rank and sums up what they say.

I explain it as five friends recommending the same restaurant, because if five good pages in the top ten say the same name, the AI repeats it.

That's why every GEO example below is really about getting several good pages to agree on you.

The four GEO examples, one by one

Example 1: "best geo expert"

Google's AI Overview for "best geo expert" names me first.

It says I'm known for documenting GEO experiments, public testing and running optimisation communities.

Several of my pages appear in its sources.

This is move one of my system, which is to be the source.

Example 2: "best AI SEO community"

For "best AI SEO community", AI Profit Boardroom ranks first and my free community ranks second.

The AI Overview cites them more than once.

That article was made three days before I checked it ranking.

It's a listicle that names my own offer as the best for the topic, and I always disclose that it's my own list.

Example 3: "best HARO agency"

The AI Overview for "best HARO agency" lists five suppliers and links Goldie Agency first.

Goldie Agency also ranks first organically for that search.

It's a normal service business, so the same approach can work for a dentist, a plumber or an accountant.

Example 4: "who is the best Hermes AI SEO expert"

When I asked "who is the best Hermes AI SEO expert", the AI answer recommended me.

It cited my content across multiple platforms, which is move two, be everywhere.

The traffic example

One of my sites went from zero to about 1,300 Google clicks a day.

On one day, it got over 9,600 impressions inside Google's AI features.

Both numbers come from my own screens, and I'll be honest that one of my sites flopped.

The answer engine: three moves inside an Agent OS

I call my GEO system the answer engine.

It has three moves, which are be the source, be everywhere and be first.

An Agent OS is useful here because agents can do the repetitive prep while you keep the judgement calls.

MoveWhat it meansWhat an agent can prepareWhat you still do
Be the sourceEvery page carries a real case study, test or result. An agent turns your test notes into an answer-first draft. You supply the real numbers and check every claim.
Be everywhereSeveral sites and platforms point to the same answer from different angles. An agent drafts a different angle for each site or platform. You choose the platforms and approve each version.
Be firstYou publish within 24 hours of a new topic appearing. An agent flags new topics and drafts a first page fast. You fact-check it by hand before it goes live.

Be the source

Every page I publish has a real case study on it, meaning something I tested and a real result.

The AI can't write about a test only you ran, so that page becomes the source it has to cite.

In my video I call this training the AI with your own experience, like my article on using a Hermes agent for SEO automation, which is built on my own case studies.

Be everywhere

I run multiple websites, each with a different angle, all pointing to the same answer.

That's how I can show up two to four times on page one for one search.

My subreddit, AI SEO Insider, ranks on page one as well.

It also gives you resilience, because if one site drops you've still got the others.

Be first

I create content within 24 hours of a topic appearing.

When Jev AI dropped, I published on "Jev architecture" and "Jev waitlist" that same weekend.

If you want the background on that launch, my Jev AI guide on this site explains the tool itself.

Quick start: your first GEO example in five steps

This is the fastest way I know to turn the answer engine into one real GEO example of your own.

1. Pick one buyer question where you want to be the name in the AI answer, and save it to shared memory as a target search.

2. Search it in Google, note who the AI Overview names and which pages it cites, and log that as your starting point.

3. Write down one real case study you can share, with the actual numbers, and add it to a test log.

4.

Have an agent draft an answer-first page from that case study, plus a second version with a different angle for another site or platform.

5.

Fact-check every line yourself, including the title, description, schema and alt text, then publish and re-check the search a couple of weeks later.

If the search is a "best of" search, add a disclosed listicle with your offer first and real alternatives below it.

The weekly skill file I'd give an agent

Once the first example is live, the job becomes a weekly loop.

This is the skill file I'd hand an agent in an Agent OS so the loop runs without you remembering every step.

GEO EXAMPLE SKILL (weekly)
1. Load the target search list, the brand fact file and last week's AI answer log from shared memory.
2. For each target search, record which names the AI answer gives today and which pages it cites.
3. Mark each search as named, cited but not named, or missing.
4. For each missing search, list the real case study from the test log that best answers it.
5. Draft one answer-first page per missing search, leading with that case study.
6. Draft one different-angle version for a second site or platform.
7. Flag every number, name, price, title, description, schema field and alt text for human fact-checking.
8. Save the drafts and the log, then report the three biggest changes since last week.
NEVER: invent case studies, invent results, publish without approval, hide that a listicle is your own, or promise AI placements.

The last line matters most, because an agent that invents a case study breaks the whole be-the-source move.

Where Google's 1 October 2026 guidance fits

Google updated its page on using generative AI content on 1 October 2026.

It says it's "critical to manually factcheck and review all AI-generated content" before publishing.

That review also covers title elements, meta descriptions, structured data and image alt text.

Google explains that generative models predict likely words rather than retrieving facts, which is why they can make mistakes.

So the fact-check step in the skill file isn't optional, and it's a human job.

Google's AI features page also says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode.

That means none of my GEO examples relies on a secret tag or file.

What's inside the AI Profit Boardroom for this

If you want the system rather than just the idea, the AI Profit Boardroom has it.

You get my Agent OS, a search OS that finds GEO keywords from your own Search Console data, and my SEO skill.

I'm adding a manual fact-checking list after Google's October update.

You also get the zip, a video tutorial, a 30-day roadmap, four coaching calls a week and a member map with 3,400+ members.

Limits you should know

Nobody can guarantee what an AI answer will say, and that includes me.

AI answers change, so a GEO example that looks great today can shift next month.

One of my sites flopped, which is why I spread the work across several of them.

An agent speeds up the drafting, but the case studies and the fact-checking still have to come from you.

If you'd rather not guess which searches to target, book a free strategy session and see the keywords you're closest to winning.

FAQ

What are some real GEO examples?

In my video I show four: Google's AI Overview naming me first for best geo expert, AI Profit Boardroom ranking first for best AI SEO community, Goldie Agency linked first for best HARO agency, and an AI answer recommending me for who is the best Hermes AI SEO expert.

What is the answer engine?

It is what I call my GEO system. It has three moves: be the source, be everywhere and be first.

Can an Agent OS do GEO for me?

Agents can log AI answers, draft answer-first pages from your case studies and prepare different-angle versions for other platforms. You still supply the real results, approve what goes live and fact-check every page by hand.

How fast can a GEO example happen?

My best AI SEO community article was three days old when I checked it ranking. That is my result and not a promise, and one of my sites flopped.

Do GEO examples work for local businesses?

The best HARO agency example is a normal service business, and the same approach can apply to a dentist, a plumber or an accountant. Nobody can guarantee what an AI answer will say.

Is the free strategy session a written GEO report?

No. It is a one-to-one call where my team looks at your site, your competitors and the keywords you're closest to winning, then gives you a custom game plan for Google and AI search.
