## What Grok Bot is

Grok Bot is xAI's agent app. It launched **11 August 2026** and it's still a beta.

Picture a small company living inside one messaging app. Every chat in the sidebar is a bot with a name and a job. You text them like teammates.

Behind all of them sits **one persistent cloud computer** that belongs to your account — with a browser, a filesystem and a terminal. It runs in a data centre. Your laptop can be shut and your phone can be off. The bots keep working.

Each bot gets its own screen on that machine, so several bots work at the same time on different things. You can open any bot's screen and watch it.

**Why it matters:** there's no terminal, no server setup and no config files. You download an app, sign in, and you're talking to your first bot in about two minutes.

---

## What it costs

Grok Bot is bundled into paid tiers — you can't buy it on its own.

| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| **Cursor Ultra** | ~$200 / month | the usual route in |
| **Cursor Teams Premium** | ~$120 / seat / month | for teams |
| **SuperGrok Heavy** | ~$300 / month | top xAI tier, includes it |

There's a free trial, but heavy use burns through it fast — some people got less than a day out of it.

**Usage limits are real.** The plan comes with weekly usage and running many bots hard eats it. Start with two or three bots, learn what earns its place, then grow.

## Where it runs

| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| macOS desktop app | ✅ available |
| Windows desktop app | ✅ available |
| iPhone | ✅ available — does everything the desktop does |
| Android | ❌ not out yet |

Everything syncs between them. Download from **x.ai/bot**.

## What's missing today

- **No model picker.** Grok Bot chooses which model handles each task and you can't override it.
- **No live voice mode.** Dictation only.
- **No Android app.**
- **It's a beta.** Rough edges and the occasional error. Judge it as a version one.

---

## The one idea that makes everything else work

> **Don't think in tasks. Think in roles.**

You don't build a bot to write one email — you build an inbox bot that **owns** your inbox. One bot, one job, done well.

Cram ten jobs into one mega bot and it gets confused, the routines pile up, and quality drops.
